Rather than post a personal opinion I'd just like to remind everyone that every single time FB has launched some large new feature, there have been a dozen or so petition groups saying people don't want it because they're resistant to change. Then it comes out anyway, and after a few bug / privacy fixes and a few months go by, no one can remember how they got along without it. This is just the history of facebook.

I definitely respect your right to sign this petition but I also believe that Facebook can't stay the same forever.

I dont understand why Facebook would change such a dam good thing. They could easily keep the same layout and insert ajax functionality. The new design is a step down for sure, all that white space is also a big turnoff. Please do not go to the new profile.

Personally I like all the functionality changes FB have made. I understand why they needed to be made, and I like how they have been done.

The only thing I dislike really is the final visual design. I think that needs a rethink.

Surveyed hundreds of teenagers from my highschool 100% of the responses  to : www.new.facebook.com/profile.php contained one of the following words:

Gay, Stupid, Annoying, Slow, F**ked Up, Pussy, Faggish (I think they made that one up, anyway Fag is usually referring to gay in teen lingo).  Quote on quote I was told "It Sucks Dick", "It's Stupid", "Facebook keeps getting more F**ked up", and various other comments I won't even repeat in front of people.

although i doubt the petition will do much, i agree with the fact that the current profile is a great design and should remain as such. signed the petition so that my voice is heard to facebook.

Broken something, they are fixing something else. Only problem with current facebook is time taking long to load friend's profiles. Instead of fixing this handy issue they wish to make some news in f8. Get ready to go the era of "1998 hotmail tabs" design.
