Seeing as the verification program will be killed. Will we get out money back?
I find this to be really silly. There have been a load of delays on launching it and when it finally did in the summer, it worked great. But the timeline says it will be killed before the 1 year is up on all our verified badges.

i would trade it to keep profile boxes. or notifications. i don't care about the money but it's irresponsible on their side. (not to mention it's illegal)

I don't want my money back.. I want the benefits that I contracted with Facebook and jumped through a bunch of hoops to receive. When you sold this to us you entered into a contract. You can't dissolve that contract willy nilly.

We paid to have a year of increased visibility, increased viral channels,... us paying is our way of signing a contract and expect to get what we paid for.
Its not so much the money as the principle of killing something that we were promised to have for a minimum of one year.
What they are doing is illegal in so many ways.

On December 1st, 2009 we'll retire the Verification brand, as we scale what was a voluntary program into a universal requirement. There is no longer a submission process or fee, and there won't be distribution boosts as the product will move towards more intentional user sharing. Starting today, we will suspend the processing of Verification submissions. All apps must meet Verification Checklist expectations and will be subject to review at any time. We'll refund the Verification submission fee for those apps that have applied but were not yet labeled as Verified, and we will compensate Verified apps on a prorated basis.
This will be interesting to see how it plays out as it won't really compensate for the loss of bucket boost etc.

Its not even only the bucket boost. For being verified, it has boosted my users by 600-700% in some of my apps I've worked on, I have seen profits double from the users that have come out of the added publicity. The added boost in buckets increased my chances only slightly because the apps that have been verified don't make enough use of invites or notifications.
The difference in profits will be pretty significant once it is killed. I also have a feeling that we will be credited through Ad credits which is not at all the same as receiving a cheque or money in your PayPal account ever two weeks.
If killing this program will cost me thousands, I can't even imagine how much it will cost others who have a much larger user base.

The level of incompetence is ridiculous. Is anyone even in charge over there? How does something like this happen?

Zuck has repeatedly stated the "hacker" culture in facebook. People like to make and break things more than anything else there. And because it's a social/fun kind of thing, the backlash and money loss is not that devastating as if, say, amazon did something similar.

I had 2 apps in the process of being verified and now the links and status text are gone in the app control panel. I'm not suggesting they're taking the money and running but it would have been professional to respond with, "We've closed this program, you're credit card has been credited."

@HarleyDS
Didn't you get an email from them? They sent a couple of emails about closing and returning money by check.
