There's simply no way to know. Most apps running Cubics generate between $0.05 and $2.00+ CPM (CPM = "costs per thousand views"). Your app is likely to fall somewhere in that range as well.
There are many, many factors that influence ad revenue such as your traffic makeup, the visibility of your ads, the current ads running on the network, etc. The thing you can influence most ad visibility. Ads with poor locations inevitably receive poor payouts. Ads that share a color scheme with your app tend to perform better.
So the only way to know what you can make is to run ads. Sign-up here and give it a try.

Hi urbanbeing
My app has 1500 DAU and I was making 2-3 $ per day, with cubics.
But from last friday it seems to pay less.
Gatesvp maybe you could help me.
I have installed cubics ads in my app. At the first days my Effective CPM was $0.40-0.43 but for the last 5-6 days it is $0.10-0.12.
Actually at 2008-03-20, eCPM was $0.43 and then, the next day 2008-03-21, eCPM was $0.10.
I didn't changed something in my pages.
I noticed that Quality Rating dropped at 2008-03-21, from 50 to -27.
What is the problem in your opinion?
Sorry for my English...

I've noticed the same thing. It appears that the moment they have to pay you more than $5.00 they drop the CPM to ensure you make less than $5.00 per day.
Here's an example from the ads on Paintball Assault (without moving the ads or page layouts)
27 Feb, 10'631 impressions, $4.64
06 March, 52'472 impressions, $4.63
19 March, 25'856 impressions, $11.28 (they seem to have slipped here)
23 March, 62'453 impressions, $3.02
Nobody can tell me that there isn't something fishy going on at Cubics, bordering on blatant fraud. I can understand if their "quality rating" was constant for a site, but the above is just plain ridiculous.

I think I just figured it out! I think their quality rating is linked to how often their server crashes ![]()

Hey markdoub & dabeastman;
There seems to be some confusion about this topic especially for newer publishers, here are some more details.
When you first start publishing, you get "average CPM". Until you hit some significant number of views (or clicks in the back-end), we just continue to rate your traffic as "average". Once we get enough views to accurately assess your quality rating we then we apply and adjust that new rating going forward.

What you're seeing is just a side effect of this system. We didn't stop you at $5, sometime between Feb 27 and Mar 6 the quality system figured out that your traffic was 20% as valuable as we were giving you credit for.
Why do we we do this?
It's simply a numbers thing.
In this space, the number of clicks is typically less than 1% of the views. For some apps, the clicks are 0.1% or 0.01% (that's one click in 10,000 views). Clicks are not the only metric for payouts, but they are part of the equation. If you send us 3,000 views in one day and you don't get any clicks, what does that mean? Not much, it may take you 10,000 views to get one or two clicks, maybe you just had a bad day and you'll get 10 clicks tomorrow for 3,000 views. We don't know yet, we can't tell how your traffic performs on just a few thousand views.
So we just pay you an "average" amount until we figure out what your traffic is really worth. We have no intent of stealing money here, in fact it's quite the opposite, if your traffic quality is low, then we're losing money b/c we're paying you at "average" and bringing in less than average.

Funny enough, Cubics used to give us click stats for a short while so we could see how that was working out. Now, we don't, so publishers are completely in the dark as to why the quality rating has slipped and we're making one-tenth of what we were before.

It would be interesting to know if anybody is making "average", since cubics re-started with the quality rating stuff...

I've been using them for about 1 month, my quality rating stayed steady at 50 with a CPM of around .40 for most of the month, then started shooting up in the last week. As of yesterday it's 96 with a CPM of .49

I'm making ~40$ a day with 3000 DAU, so it's quite much about impressions too (just hit 435000 impressions per day yesterday).
(edit: on impressions I mean page loads, which isn't the same of course. That's about 300-350k banner impressions, 'cos some peeps block ads.)
